Church Hill’s “bakery district” gets some attention
The RTD’s Work It, Richmond spreads the word about the new neighborhood yummies:
Step onto the streets of Church Hill in the early morning hours and you’ll be greeted by the smell of freshly baked bread, pastries and pies.
Three bakeries have opened within blocks of each other in the past two months, a continuation of a legacy once carried on by the Nolde Bakery, which produced bread on East Broad Street from the 1890s to 1970s.
