Sad to know this structure is at risk but this is the sort of thing we see all too often in Church Hill. The lack of interest to do proper regular maintenance leads to disaster. An owner can’t just let it go “as is” like a person can’t simply put gas in a car and go without tending to other parts of the car’s maintenance…or it will leave you on the side of the road. Same with buildings.
If the New Light Baptist Church at 2000 E. Broad can’t raise funds over the past 10-years to restore and reinstall the steeple damaged in 1954, then I wonder how long and if funds will come in to make this building safe again?
