Love and graffiti on M Street
I was forwarded this photo of this house at M and 22nd Streets, under renovation by RBVA. After 801 North 24th was renovated, this became my favorite vacant house in the area and it’s awesome to see it getting some love. Not so awesome to see it to continue to collect graffiti while it’s getting fixed up.
This is the R. A. Joseph House, in the Greek Revival style, built circa 1856. This 2- story, 3-bay, frame dwelling has a hip-roofed porch with modern square posts, and a box crown with a molded crown. The building has a box cornice on 4 sides and a molded crown. It is a contributing structure to the Union Hill Historic District.
Glad to see RBVA is renovating it. It should be spectacular once completed!

I understand the graffiti went up after the RBVa sign went up, so I hope it will stop now that there are some eyes on the house! And SEW, I agree with you – glad RBVa is doing the renovation!
A lot of people have asked us if they can take a look inside, and unfortunately, we can’t allow anyone inside the house. I will be posting updates about our progress on our website, though. I just uploaded a series of current photos this weekend- so take a peek inside.

Now it’s all clear- there was a glitch in our hosting service which ‘suspended’ the websites on it for a few hours. I was confused because by the time I saw Lisa’s message, the problem had been fixed. I apologize for numerous postings, but I am very excited about our progress and really want to show off. More pictures will be added by the end of the week.
