Two more for Fairmount Avenue

2308 Fairmount Avenue

The Better Housing Coalition has plans for a renovation and a new house on Fairmount Avenue. The affordable housing organization very recently closed on 2012 Fairmount Avenue, named earlier this year one of the ten most blighted houses in Church Hill, and intends to build at 2308 Fairmount Avenue.

BHC has built or restored over 100 homes in the Church Hill area, including the award-winning back-from-the-dead renovation at 2008 Fairmount Avenue.

BHC has a page up on their site for 2012 Fairmount if you know anyone looking to get in on this:

Church Hill – 2012 Fairmount Ave

    $179,000 3 Bedrooms 2.5 Bathrooms

Better Housing Coalition will undergo the renovation of a ca. 1895, Queen Anne home on Fairmount Ave. The house is adjacent to BHC’s award winning home 2008 Fairmount Ave., winner of the 2009 ACORN Best Residential Renovation Award. BHC will retain the historic character of the home while making it livable again for a new individual or family. The renovation will include updating the house with new, innovative, green features that add up to substantial savings all year long!:

HardiPlank siding on all four sides (50-yr guarantee)
    Energy Star Appliances
    Low-VOC paint
    High Quality Blown-in Cellulose Insulation
    Low-E Windows
    Efficient Heating and Cooling Systems

The 1860 s.f. home features 3 bedrooms, 2.5 bath. The house’s original floor plan will be retained in addition to original mantels, flooring, windows and trim where possible. The bay window is featured in the 1st floor living room and the 2nd floor master bedroom. The house has a spacious front porch and rear deck. A new security system, lawn and front planting bed is included.

Thanks to HRF for the heads-up!
