Fire on Carrington Street

A house on Carrington Street caught on fire this morning: Firefighters were summoned at 9:16 a.m. to the 2400 block of Carrington Street near North 24th Street and found smoke rising from a two-story house, said Richmond fire Lt. Shawn L. Jones. [...] Fire officials attributed the cause of the blaze to a cooking accident.

Trash pick-up pushed back one day

The city of Richmond will delay this week’s trash pick-up schedule by one day as a result of road conditions following the winter storm. Monday’s trash pick up schedule will be delayed until Tuesday, February 2, 2010, with each subsequent trash pick-up schedule following a one-day delay in service.
