What’s the deal with the snow plows not actually plowing?
A reader writes in with a good observation (and a photo!): Why are plow trucks driving all around the city with their plows up?!?! They drove by our house 7-10 times last night, each time doing no actual plowing. While going to Lowe’s, we’ve seen several other city plows, again, plows up off the ground. [...]

Broad Street closed between 25th and 14th Streets
Broad Street east and west bound lanes from 25th Street to 14th Street are now closed to all traffic until further notice. The Boulevard Bridge has also been closed by city officials until further notice. As anticipated, the heavy snow fall along with freezing temperatures is creating hazardous road conditions as snow accumulation rises.

The RTD is reporting the seizure of 21 dogs from a house in the 1700 block of North 23rd Street: A spokesman for Richmond Animal Care and Control said the animals were a variety of ages and found in various states of health. Murder on Fairfield Avenue
The Richmond Police Department is investigating a homicide that occurred along Fairfield Avenue at around 4PM this afternoon. Responding to a call of shots fired, officers found a man on the ground at the intersection of Fairfield Avenue and North 20th Street. The victim was transported to VCU Medical where he died.
