While it’s unfortunate news, perhaps we should start encouraging other businesses/restaurants to move into that space. Enoteca Sogno lost their lease at their current Broad Street/Fan location: http://www.enoteca-sogno.com/ Who’s up for courting them to move into our area? While I can’t speak for everyone else, they’d definitely be a welcome addition to the neighborhood in my opinion. I know I don’t represent Que Pasa or own the property for that matter, but I’ve already sent an email to them to encourage them to look into the opportunity.

can’t say i’m surprised, but i’m am bummed. always enjoyed eating there, even if they didn’t have half of the items on the menu and failed to provide tortilla chips for taco night. (never fear! we got some at family market and brought them in!) oh well. what next?

Can’t say I’m surprised either. Service was slow and my wife got sick after $1 taco night once. Never went back after that. The food lacked consistency- one night you would get tacos completely stuffed then the next week there was hardly anything in them. And cabbage? Who puts cabbage in tacos??

I’m really sad to hear this! The owners worked really hard to make the place beautiful and tried so hard to make a go of it. I am sorry it didn’t work out – it’s a loss for all of us. I never had a bad experience there by the way – great service, good food, and fabulous mojitos.

god i always do this with the multiple comments..cause i guess i dont read the last one well enough. shame on me. but i agree about with the last part of cordied’s comment. however i have seen the kitched in que pasa first hand and it is VERY small.

The atmosphere was great! Loved sitting by the fire place, sipping wine after dinner. The live music gave me a feeling of nostalgia, noir, Casablanca style! I loved the atmosphere so much that I would return even though the food was aweful. The rice tasted like rice-a-roni or something similar, packaged. The black beans and peas were cold and flavorless (perhaps they are suppose to be cold and tasteless); The blackened pork chops and roasted pork dishes seemed to have been microwaved, but unfortunately not throughly, as they had hot and cold spots. These dishes didn’t taste fresh – or appetizing. The price for a meal and wine was very reasonable. It would make a great spot with and updated menu, recipe, and perhaps even cook.

the food was quite good though. the ambiance was a bit lacking. it is, however, a beautiful building at a prime location i think.

sad but cantr say im surprised. i literally live right across the street. my neighboor and i would always notice how they were closed at the most inopertune times. i mean we knew there was a reason..but it just didnt seem like a vibrant business. that is at least since august.

What a great opportunity for one of the established Downtown,Fan or Near West End restaurant owners to open an east end location – a location that has everything in place already… just needs food.

I agree with observant. Sanchez did himself in. Worst service ever. I saw this coming 4 months ago. Customers would actually walk away hating the owner …and by “the glowering asshole in the cowboy hat” I bet you meant Montana…. Hilarious!

quite possibly some of the worst food and service I have ever been subjected to but probably what really sunk them was the glowering asshole in the cowboy hat…what a jerk hopefully he will sell the place to someone who knows about food and the importance of building a good relationship with their customers !!
