Man shot on Coalter Street

A yet-unidentified man in his late-20s was shot in the abdomen “just before 2:30 p.m. in the 1500 block of Coalter Street” in Mosby Court. Richmond police spokesman James Mercante says that the man’s injuries are “not considered life-threatening”. This is the second shooting on Coalter Street in 10 days.

Widespread power outage

Dominion Power is reporting a widespread power outage in the area due to a circuit breaker outage at a substation. They anticipate having the power back up by noon.

DaVinci’s Pizza, 25th Street Bar & Grill, Chimborazo Elementary School, CaptainBuzzy’s, and Globe Hoppper Coffeehouse all had routine health inspections this month with no violations. Woolfolk Seafood Restaurant got hit with one violation: Containers of hazardous product are not properly stored to prevent the contamination of food, equipment, utensils, linens or single service items.

Prostitution stings nets 28 arrests citywide

RPD conducted several citywide prostitution stings on December 3, 4, 9, and 10 in which twenty-one ladies of the evening and afternoon were picked up (including 3 in our little area north of Fairmount Avenue).

A reader writes in looking for recommendations: I was wondering if you’d be willing to post asking for recommendations for a reliable, honest gutter company to do half-rounds. After last week’s snow, we need new gutters. And apparently another row of snow guards on the roof. Ouch.

Seeking listings for East End Real Estate Fair
