Public input and a vote on new schools on Monday

The School Board meeting at 4:30PM on Monday includes the only opportunity for public input on the shift in priorities that has likely knocked any work on MLK Middle School out of Phase 1 in favor of a southside elementary school (agenda PDF). The Board will vote on this at the end of their 6PM meeting (agenda PDF).

Where can we find the proposed Phase 1 plan? I’m not having any luck on the RPS website.

Here is the original/current plan & the Mayor’s proposal. It appears that the School Board has modified the Mayor’s proposal and swapped out the unspecified middle school for a new elementary school.

It’s nice they release all this on the weekend then you have until Monday afternoon to share your input. This game is already mailed in. They know exactly what they are going to do which is do what Jones wants. BTW, where is the extra $24 million going to come from in these economic times?

The online survey didn’t work -I read it over then it wouldn’t allow me to go back and answer questions.

Will they allow for public input after 6pm? If I can get off work in time, I’ll head down there.
