Perhaps a Bojangles’ or a Popeyes instead

Fall 2009

Although plans for the site were unveiled in May and the big sign still says COMING SOON FALL 2009, the new FOR RENT signs on the former KFC on Mosby Street appear to indicate that the project has taken a turn for the worse. Anybody got any info on this?

I was in touch w/Dennis over the summer, talking about his plans for this site. But his phone number has been changed and the one on the sign doesn’t reach him . So, maybe he’ll see this post and respond.

Cynthia, the phone number on the sign is still working. Maybe you dialed incorrectly. Anyway it is good to speak with you again. The project has not taken a turn for the worse, in fact it remains very much alive. We have been delayed 8 months in the approval process but our permit is finally ready for pick up and progress on the site will be forthcoming. The “For Rent” sign was an attempt to see if any one is interested in rental and to let the area residents know that the property was not abandoned.
Just last week the empty store was broken into and all of the electrical wiring was stolen and the interior of the building was trashed. We made a police report today and we were assured that the patrols wood be increased. I can be reached at my e-mail address which is dfortecontract@aol.com and any questions or concerns can be answered.
    Thank you,
    Dennis

    Dennis,
I applaud you for wanting to build in this neighborhood. From the looks of your plan your going to put more money into this piece dirt then anyone else in history. I like the new plan better then the old one. Built the **** out of this place and silence the nay sayers.
