I’m sure someone can clarify the law, as I am not a lawyer myself, but I believe that anything that can be seen from the public roadway is fair game imagewise. So if the exterior of your house is used as background in a movie/video/commercial what have you and no one sets foot on your property, they are in the clear. Anyone know for sure?
In other words; Isn’t it fascinating the amount of knowledge one must posses to have the forethought to edit their music video with the intent of subliminally advocating the use of marijuana by having said video end at precisely 4:20. A time and term for getting high that’s commonly known among those “In the know”, 4:20 still remains an unknown reference to many.

Editoral usage is different. A newspaper, for example, can publish a photo of you in a story about the neighborhood without a model release. The newspaper cannot then use that same photo in an advertisement for the newspaper without your consent.
It’s all in the way the image is used.
Advertising and commercial usage is one thing, editorial usage is another.
I’m not an attorney, but I’m pretty sure da switchman and his record cumpny would both b owin you some bling if they’re using a photograph of you or your property in this manner.

I do not condone frivollers law suits especially when the motive is hating on a young brother just trying to keep real and get that money. Switchman or no switchman, NOBODY KNOW’S WHERE YOU LIVE! This 4 minute and 20 second (4:20 very clever indeed) will not make your neighborhood any less endearing than it already is. You can still count on the incalculable amount of crack addicted tourist stopping by to admire the nirvana you so affectionately call home and inflate your local economy with dirty drug money and unbeatable deals on TV’s and stolen car stereos. My personal recommendation is for you to quit hating as us people of color would say, and also to obstruct your esophagus with an extremely capacious distended shaped phallus.

I am not so concerned about the background images. I am by far more concerned about the manner of the message being sent.
