Man shot in butt on North 19th Street
The RTD is reporting a nonfatal shooting last night:
The man was taken to VCU Medical Center for treatment of a gunshot wound to the buttocks after the 11:15 p.m. shooting in the 1600 block of North 19th Street [...] the man told police that he and another man were walking to a store when they were approached by a car whose occupants asked if they had drugs. When the victim and his friend said they did not, words were exchanged and several shots were fired at the two.
So those were gunshots! I tried to brush them off as fireworks.
I heard those shots, too, and thought that it was closer. I can’t usually hear shots from that up Fairfield way, I think that sound was carrying last night.
Or we heard another incident around the same time. I have a hard time believing we heard shots over a mile away, with all the buildings/houses in between…
