Schindler Satellite Gallery opens tonight for First Friday

Church Hill’s long-running Eric Schindler Gallery will open the Schindler Satellite Gallery at 8 West Broad Street for tonight’s First Friday with a show featuring works by 12 or more gallery artists. ART180 will host the event and sell candy bars, cookbooks, and journals to support their art programs for young people in challenging circumstances.

First Precinct and Sector 113 recognized in May

George Mason playground burns in the night

wtvr has details on an overnight fire that destroyed the playground at George Mason Elementary: Fire crews were called to the school at 3:30 this morning. [...] When Richmond fire crews got to the school they saw flames shooting 30 feet into the air. The fire melted most of plastic playground equipment.

Shooting on Fairfield Avenue

The RTD is reporting that “Richmond police are investigating the shooting of a male at the corner of Fairfield Avenue and North 23rd Street this afternoon.” The as-yet-unidentified 36-year-old shooting victim was alive when found and has been taken to the hospital.
