Before and after on Fairmount

2008_fairmount_avenue

The vacant house at 2008 Fairmount Avenue dramatically burned at the end of 2007. From the ash, the renovation is nearing completion and Better Housing Coalition is looking for a buyer.

$195,000 (with down payments and closing cost grants are available to qualified buyers), 3 bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, “features original hardwood floors and facade details”.

Wow John – given the comment of “From the ash” this house truly is a phoenix being reborn. That is a gorgeous home, the before and afters are amazing!

I’ve been watching this house from mine down the street. I always thought it would look nice, but it has exceeded my expectations. When the siding went up, I let out a “wow.” And the details…beautiful.

I notice the house next door was already boarded up before the fire (2004 picture!)– what’s the scoop with that one?

  9. posted by john_m at June 12, 2009 1:16 pm [#]:

That house was demolished at some point, but I didn’t catch that. There was a house on the other side that burned and was demolished back in 2004.

You have to admit that this is a great looking transformation. Wish more “restorations” and in-fills would turn out like this. Not the first time BHC has done wonders and hope not the last!
