Public hearing on ordinance on changes to the Downtown Master Plan

The Richmond Downtown Plan was adopted on October 13, 2008. Following its adoption, an ordinance (PDF) was introduced that would direct the City Planning Commission to consider amendments to the Plan. Richmond City Council will hold a public hearing on this ordinance on Monday, February 9, 2009 at 6:00pm in City Council Chambers (2nd floor, City Hall).
The ordinance would direct the Planning Commission to consider amendments to the Plan, including those related to:
Viewsheds
Street and alley closings
Waterfront access
Development standards for the former Tarmac property (also known as “Echo Harbor”)
J. Sargeant Reynolds C.C. Downtown Campus
Stormwater management
Downtown infrastructure
Main Street Station
State-owned property (Capitol Square Complex)

    @ EDI (701 North 25th Street). Staff from the Commission of Architectural Review and the Department of Community Development will present the boundaries, make a brief presentation on the designation process, and answer questions.

    Monday night city council will also nominate and elect an interim city council member. There will be a public hearing associated with this selection.
