Winter hours and lunch specials for It Must Be Heaven

The folks at the neighborhood’s newest ice cream parlor It Must Be Heaven would like to share both that they will be closed on Mondays for the winter months and that they have more than ice cream to offer. Stop by and check out the lunch special including the Bite So Sweet (One Jumbo Hot Dog, Choice side Of the Day, Baked Beans and a bottled water) and Stan’s Jumbo Lump Crab Soup with Choice of Roll.

If you have questions, comments or concerns please email It Must Be Heaven at imbhinfo@yahoo.com and someone will will get back to you that day or the next.

They’re using true Jumbo Lump Crab meat -no shredded stuff. I highly recommend this soup.

The people who run this place are so very nice and generous. I hope that the neighborhood will support them.

I will second the Queen’s statement. They are very nice people and we love the ice cream too.

This place is awesome. And the folks who run it are incredibly nice and go out of their way to make you feel wanted. I go there a lot. I do worry about them getting away from the core product though, which is of course ice cream. And I understand they have to probably sell more than ice cream to make the place money. I get that. And, I love crab soup and hot dogs as much as anyone, but when I’m in the mood for ice cream and I go into a place that smells like a seafood/meat market, it makes me throw up a little in my mouth. What about some wraps or deli sandwiches? Something with a little less stinch. There needs to be some kind of theme. Hot dogs, beans, crab soup and ice cream? It’s all over the place. I’m not going to stop going there, because the ice cream is awesome and the people are great, but I don’t think they are going in the right direction here. Just my opinion.

Also, not sure how many people know this but there are a few folks in the neighborhood who want this place shut down because they don’t like the car/foot traffic it brings. I would like to tell those people to move the hell out of the city if they don’t like sharing the block with restaurants. As for the rest of us, let’s keep supporting neighborhood establishments. One more thing, there was a sign on the window that said they would be closed until the 8th. What’s up with that? Sorry for the long rant.

Stopped in Tuesday for lunch. The ladies behind the counter, wonderful as usual. My first try at a sandwich there, yum. Beware, they are evil temptresses in disguise. They gave me a little cup of the crab soup to sample.

While I waited I fought further temptation… the cakes on the counter looked too good to pass up and the ice cream, well, it was calling to me too. I turned my attention to the really cool tables and new blue centerpieces on them to resit their Siren call.

I resisted but will be back for the cake – soon!

This place is wonderful. I drove past a couple of times and thought it sounded interesting but never went in. I finally went in yesterday and had the baked chicken, sweet potato pudding (the best), and cabbage. Everything was delicious. I actually went back for dinner but found out they only serve hot food for lunch :( I did try the cookie dough ice cream and that was delicious. I will make this restaurant a regular stop!
