I heard those shots. I live on the next block off of S St and Oakwood. I was fully asleep when they woke me up, so I was not sure if I really heard gunshots or just something slamming.

My friend has heard gunshots behind her house on 33rd Street the past few nights, too.

They always said that when the temperature rises so does cime.

No, I think you are getting it confused with Predator.

Yes, a stray bullet did hit a sleeping woman. But what you fail to know, is that sleeping woman is also, 4 months pregrant with 2 children sleeping as well. People have know repect for human life today. I visit this site on several occassions and read the updates on this site. Thank God for her nephew being with her that nite to help her. By the way, the reason I know all this info is because that woman is my sister and her nephew is my brave son. Thank God my 7 year old niece and 6 year old nephew, was not harmed. That was nothing but the protection of God. It also amazed me how the news reports on crime, when in fact they were never on the seen from the beginning to the end, but if that what sales paper. May God be with them too.

Hey CJ, thank you for bringing more depth to this. I hope that your sister and the kids are ok after all of this, I know that I would be freaked out for a while.

Thanks John, I love this site and always enjoy reading the different comments. Who knew one day it would includ my family.

Violent rates climb in correlation with the temperature until it hits 100, then there is a drop, or one of my college professors was pulling my leg.

Now, I do like the theory about the Predator being loose in our hood. If I rememeber correctly, he only hunts those with weapons on them.

I live on N 32nd Street and we heard gunshots 2 nights in a row. Maybe in the alley between 32nd and 33rd streets at the 300 block. I have also noticed that, as of this past weekend, one of my neighbors has started to carry a gun – a pistol that he wears on a holster. It is plainly visible (because it is freaking HUGE!). I was told by the 1st precinct, when I called to report the nightly gunshots, that it is legal for Mr. Neighbor to carry the gun. He must not know about the Predator. :)

I recall Predator having some skull trophies of animals, whose claws and teeth may be considered weapons. I know it didn’t kill the latina, but if it had then there would be no hot chick element to the rest of the movie and the dorks would have lost interest.

I wish Predator would come over to my street.

We live at 33rd & Broad and have heard noises that sounded like gun shots on a couple of nights the past few weeks. My neighbor reported finding a bullet hole in a window on the back of her house (she reported it to Police). I’m being redundant here, but we really wish the Police would spend a little less time parked in Chimborazo Park and more time patrolling the strees AND alleys. I’ve never heard gunshots coming from the park or parts south of Chimborazo — except on the 4th of July: it appears that on that day, all bets are off!
