The correct order is as follows: Get your Drink on, Then your snack on,Followed by Freak on, Continuing to gettin your Swerve on! After that I get my nap on (just ’cause no one wants to be around me by then)….Congrats to Patrick Henry’s! I can almost taste my sour apple cosmo-tini!

Displaced… sounds like you started early this evening. Name doesn’t ring a bell (or anything else). Then again I don’t get out much – with the same person for 22 years :-)

I am glad that Patrick Henry Pub has gotten great reviews but the Northern Italian cuisine just isn’t something I enjoy as I don’t like boiled or steamed seafood. I am more of a broiled, blackened, and fried type of seafood person. I know they have more on the menu (caught it in the newsletter) but the majority is this type of food and I don’t like to go to a sit down dinner and eat hamburgers. Have they turned down the lights upstairs? The last time I drove by at night they were blazing full blast.

I don’t know what is going on in this chain, so I’m just going to ignore it.

A few of us gathered there for dinner and drinks last night and found it to be perfect: another great addition to our increasingly walkable community.

The restaurant and bar were packed, as they deserve to be!

gray… was your comment called for or even necessary? I was trying to make light of what was said to me personally then making small talk about the food (a type I don’t like) and then asked a simple question. what was wrong with that? Sounds like you just rather have me “go” away from the blog site instead?

the food at patrick henrys is very good . thats the backbone of any successful restaurant coupled with an engaged attentive staff.our new neighbors deserve our patronage based on these two points alone. so lets not worry about their lights being too loud? let those who eat there opine all others out of”common decency” shut yer piehole

  29. posted by gray at July 25, 2008 11:25 am [#]:

    Thanks mike.

Eric, I like seeing you on the blog -you stir the pot, however, the trying to find yet another reason to dislike Patrick Henry’s has gotten silly.

  30. posted by Eric S. Huffstutler at July 25, 2008 12:48 pm [#]:

gray… it isn’t “yet another” reason. I made an observation and early on was told the lighting was dim but saw otherwise when I drove by. It was an issue when Accapella was open and “many” people complained so they started dimming the lights in the dining room. We weren’t the only people complaining. I know when we visited the basement during Accapella days we turned off any lights near us without any complaints from the staff. I am not one of those people who has to “see what I am eating” but rather enjoy a relaxing evening with mood lighting and not feel like I am sitting in a baseball stadium.

    Again, was only an observation.

    Eric

  31. posted by Displaced in YPV at July 25, 2008 1:37 pm [#]:

Now there’s an idea. Instead of going to P-rick henry’s, you could go sit in the baseball stadium. Soon enough the lights there will be dim ALL the time.

  34. posted by larsson at July 25, 2008 2:44 pm [#]:

should have been “bloody nonsense” but i’m still nursing a hangover from a wonderful meal, great company and far to many soda pops at the place last night.

magneto & JES, you best be going BACK to the pub ASAP so that i can join you.

also. does the drama never end? chpn is an endless stream of entertainment at my boring office job. thank you thank you thank you!

  36. posted by WhoDat! at July 25, 2008 4:06 pm [#]:

elphaba- If you think your job is boring- just think of our friend sportin’ the white nut duster? Everyday he lords over a captive in a dry well in his basement and chants “It rubs the on lotion or it gets a bad review on CHPN” He then pets his dog Precious while sewing some type of “woman suit”….

Back on topic I was at Patty Hens last night! It was busy, busy.

so i just got kicked out of que pasa, after spending $50 on drinks. granted it was after closing, but if you cant figure out how to tell your customers to leave with out being an absolute asshole, it shouldn’t be long before John goes out of business.
it sucks for him, but maybe when he has to sell the building, the next guy wont be such a dick! never going back, i couldn’t spit enough.

And Mr and/or Ms 33rd street posted that at 1:13 in the morning…If the place was closed, then you obviously didn’t get the first or even third hint that John gave you; you needed to be told with upmost clarity that it was time to carry your butt out the door!

“but if you cant figure out how to tell your customers to leave with out being an absolute asshole, it shouldn’t be long before John goes out of business”

Somehow, I doubt John’s business plan hinges on the drink till closing and refuse to leave crowd…

    33rd st,
$50 on drinks?! Was this a tab for one? If so, you might not have a memory of John asking you to leave politely.

    Off the subject of drinks….
I joined some friends the other night at Patrick Henry’s and we sampled eachother’s dishes and the big winners at the table -the eggplant parmigiana with the perfect amount of crisp and delicious tomato sauce and the mussels with a light gorganzola sauce- as good as it gets people.

    Dear Mr Huff in Puff

Last week, my cousin/brother-in-law/uncle called me screamin over and over “I caught him…I caught him” It took some effort before I got him to tell me who. “The D A M N GEIKO LIZZARD”.

Of course, I knew he hadn’t but I still drove over to his place to see what was going on. Sure enough, my cousin/brother-in-law/uncle was drunk and most likely stooned on goofballs again. And sure enough it was not a lizzard in his net, but instead the neighbors basset hound that someone had painted green.

Now, I hope this metaphor clarifys things.
