body in tarp is dog carcass

Police responded this morning to a report of a body wrapped in a dark-colored tarp at 28th and Y Streets:

Five police cruisers responded to the East End neighborhood. Officers secured a large area around the body with yellow crime-scene tape and began knocking on doors… [...] But when detectives arrived, they discovered the body was actually that of a large dog.

How sick and inhumane some people can be.

How is that sick or inhumane if the dog was already dead? Sometimes people’s options are limited as to how they can dispose of pet remains. Don’t assume they don’t care.

“Sometimes people’s options are limited as to how they can dispose of pet remains.” J, obviously whoever did this just wrapped the dog in plastic and threw it on the ground. They could have called the city…perhaps the city could have offered a suggestion. They could have placed the dog in a dumpster (again, not the best course of action but better than throwing it on the ground). Whoever did this didn’t give a damn about the dog and didn’t think of what others might think if this was discovered. Not surprising in the area in which the dog was found I must say. How much money was wasted for the cops who showed up? How could their time have been better used? I doubt the person who did this cared at all. It’s just inappropriate…

The story says it was in a yard but did not say if it was the owner’s yard or how long it had been there. It could have been just sitting there until they figured out what to do. It could have been too large for them to lift into a dumpster. If it was mistaken for a human, then it was probably quite big. Given the lack of details, I wouldn’t assume people are just throwing dead dogs around. They took enough care to wrap the dog in a tarp. Most people probably don’t know you can call animal control to have them pick it up.

Since thisis the second animal found with the same MO there’s the possibility that there’s more to this than meets the eye.

Did the animals show evidence of abuse or have been fought? And how do we know they even had an owner. They may have been strays and the fella who found them did what he thought was right.

Asone who has tried to get the City of Richmond to pick up dead wildlife, I can attest that they sure DON’T it easy, so don’t be so quick to judge.

That is right. Were they murdered? Were they wrapped in the tarp alive and left to die a cruel death?
People like myself who own indoor pets and treat them as an extension of our own family have a different perspective and appreciation for our furry friends and anyone who can abuse an animal should be abused and shot themselves!

Killing or abusing animals is a sign of a sociopath.

Or maybe they were abducted by aliens!
