    Child Savers Becoming a Problem?

Child Savers has been creating problems in the neighborhood by allowing the cliental to loiter at all hours, double Park, as well as disrespecting the neighborhood. The problem is growing and we should conquer the issues before they get out of hand. Trash is being thrown out of cars onto the street, loud music from cars as well as the cliental screaming. Child Savers is not a hang out for another neighborhood. Child Savers has ignored the special use permit by having clients in and out of the building past acceptable hours. Child Savers has not used its authority to let their cliental know they better shape up or else you will not receive services. Child saver needs to respect the rules and set an example for their cliental. Good deeds do not equal breaking the rules. Complaints to the Director go unsatisfied. Action needs to be taken by either Church Hill Association or Child Savers to end problems before they get out of hand. We all have supported many things in Church Hill from the height of the condos on 25th street and fight the development of apartments/condos at the end of broad. Lets come together to let business or organizations know there is no room for the in Church Hill if they can not follow the rules or disrespect the neighborhood.

“Child Savers has been creating problems in the neighborhood by allowing the cliental to loiter at all hours, double Park, as well as disrespecting the neighborhood.”

How are the clients “loitering” at all hours when the clinic is only open Monday and Friday 8-5, Tues-Thurs 8-7 and Sat 8-1? Last I checked, they only “loiter” when someone they know is inside for 50min sessions (sometimes longer if multiple kids are involved). If they are hanging at the overlook, that has nothing to do with MCGC and everything to do with an awesome overlook everyone wants to enjoy.

And they don’t “allow” them to. When the behavior is noticed, the particular people committing such an offense are addressed. You might not realize it because it is done inside, behind closed doors, away from roving eyes/ears.

“Child Savers has ignored the special use permit by having clients in and out of the building past acceptable hours.”

How? Be specific and give us some proof to support your allegations.

In case you haven’t noticed, trash is being thrown out of cars everywhere around Church Hill, not just there, so trying to pin it on one set of individuals is erroneous in nature. I’ve seen people walk 2 blocks from my house (and I live in the complete opposite direction at the very end of Marshall Street) and throw trash on the ground. I watched people walk out of the Blue Wheeler and throw their empty pizza boxes in the yards they pass. Littering is not something that just happens by your house.

Also, the people who work at Child Savers (which is actually Memorial Child Guidance Clinic) do set an excellent model if I do say so myself.

I for one would like exact proof and/or incidents such things have been specific to MCGC. Taking ones rant as gospel isn’t going to work for me.

And by the way, how exactly would CAR and the CHA be able to handle this situation? They are not legal entities that can kick MCGC out of a building they own.
