Thank you, Gray ... Please know I am fighting for the East End as well. There is absolutely no excuse good enough to justify the overcrowding and triple digit suspension rates in the East End elementary schools and on the Northside. The 7th and the 3rd Districts are the ONLY two districts that have closed schools and tried to cooperate with lowering costs. Closing Patrick Henery only to re-open and close it again, to close it and re-open it again for the charter school does not count as a closure in my book.

Perhaps the SB candidates can set up a time to meet with neighbors at Buzzy's or Globe Hopper.

This is going to be a tough race. All the SB candidates are either passionate about education and the kids or they like a good beating because this term will be four very difficult years for very little pay. You'll be in the minus digits once all is said and done. Has anyone noticed how exhausted, wrinkly, and nutty some of our current SB members have become.

We need a scrapper like Carol Wolf -- someone that busts up corruption downtown and at the same time represents her district well. Look how well her zoned schools are doing.

I told someone this evening, that we know that the east end has achieved it's goal when people across town vie for a space in one of our schools.

I want the next 7th district SB member to do right by all RPS but not short change the east end schools. Demand high quality principals and teachers, language programs, new football field, IB at the elementary level, a newly built school where needed, and never again allow for over crowding like at Woodville. Since I was born and brought to Church Hill forty years ago, the east end has gotten the short end of the stick. Enough is Enough.

We'll know for sure in 11 days. Looking at the city-wide list so far, there are more than a few uncontested races. And then there is our overloaded school board race and the getting-crowded mayoral contest...

So no one is going to challenge McQuinn? She certainly hasn't been bad these last couple years but I don't like when someone runs unopposed.
