2 charges dropped in slaying case (RTD 6/20/08)

Police also arrested LaPrecious Nicole Austin, 19, of Richmond, the alleged driver of the getaway car, on a charge of conspiracy to commit robbery. That charge, the only one against her, has been dropped.

It sure would be something if the newspaper would report on why those charges were dropped. Maybe ask some questions, report some details. Inform the public once and a while. Yep, that’d be swell.

Grand jury brings new murder charge in killing of VCU student (RTD 12/1/08)

A Richmond grand jury today indicted LaPrecious Nicole Austin with first-degree murder and other charges in the killing of a VCU student. [...] Her trial is set for Jan. 13.

I’m a journalism professor at James Madison University and a writer for Richmond Magazine. I’m trying to write a story from the point of view of these two young women’s families–how they have been affected by the Byrd Park crime. I’ve been in contact with Williams’ attorneys, who said her family is quite willing to talk with reporters, but they cannot give me the name or phone number of Zsabriela’s mother, because of the attorney client privilege. Does anyone know Zsabriela’s mother or have any ideas of how I might conatct her?

    Regards,

Only a journalism professor would take the time to write a story on these pieces of trash. Don’t waste your ink. Surely you can find something better to do with your time. I suppose they did this because of a life of neglect and you feel obligated to tell their “story.” Give me a freakin’ break.

I 2nd that…..The only thing that concerns me about these GUILTY criminals is how long I don’t have to worry about them seeing the light of day. Brutal sub-human thugs!!!

8-year term for final Binsted slaying defendant (RTD March 3, 2009)

The prosecution of three people for the robbery and slaying of Virginia Commonwealth University student Tyler J. Binsted drew to a close today when the final defendant was sentenced to 18 years in prison.

    “pieces of trash”

Sigh, I’d actually like to hear the full story of how these lives interected and if Ms. Nusser could write it, I’d read it, but I think you’d have to start 20 years back or more.

I mostly weep for the family of the victim, but also what turns young human beings into “Brutal sub-human thugs”.

There but for grace go you and I.

If you don’t ever look at a problem from all sides you can’t fix it. I have zero sympathy for the criminals but studying their family dynamics may help prevent more of them from being produced.

Although I never met Tyler Binstead I have read many articles about him since his tragic death and I can say that he had so much to give this world. It is a terrible loss that his life was taken and the low life pieces of crap get to keep theirs. In response to the person who wanted to write about Zsabriela and Precious’ childhood and life, I don’t want to read about trash, they had nothing to give this world but problems, and although some claim that their childhood and upbringing brought them to kill, that’s bull_ _ _ _! First of all, they know the difference between right and wrong, all they wanted to do was get ahead by stealing and robbing a good honest hard working soul. Shame on them, may Zsabriela rot in hell, I can only hope that Precious’ hands are glued to the steering wheel of the vehicle that leads her to hell, may she feel what Tyler’s girlfriend felt when she was pleading for help, not realizing that Precious was part of the gang. I don’t care what kind of sob story is their life, why use the story now, before they committed the murder of Tyler I can guarantee that they (murderer’s) were proud of where they came from, so why use excuses now. There is no excuse for killing Tyler in cold blood. I hope that
Zsabriela dies in prision, but only if she suffers 100 fold what Tyler did while taking his last breath. I have no sympathy for the killers and I ask you to please not write a story about them, give them no glory, write about Tyler or his family a year later. Keep Tyler’s memory alive, but never curse yourself with dabbling with pure evil. Let them rot in prison and be forgotten. They are not worth the paper you would write their name on.
