All westbound lanes of East Leigh Street from Mosby Street to N. 11th Street will be closed from 6PM Friday, March 28 until 6PM Sunday, March 30.

The closure will allow cranes to replace heating and air conditioning units on the roof of the Virginia Commonwealth University facility at 1100 E. Leigh Street.

The detour for motorists will be to take Mosby Street south, right on Venable Street, left onto Oliver Hill Way, right onto E. Broad Street, right onto N. 11th Street and then turn left onto E. Leigh Street.

Approximately 5,000 vehicles per day use the westbound portion of E. Leigh Street affected by the lane closure. These motorists are encouraged to avoid the area or to be prepared for traffic delays associated with the detour. Eastbound traffic on E. Leigh Street will not be affected by the lane closure.
