The trees must be at approved sites.
They must be the approved species for the area.

The sites will also be inspected for compliance with the City’s Tree Ordinance.

Shrubs and wild flowers must be approved by the Public Works Grounds Division.

Thanks, Norm. I have another question. I’d like to plant some trees in the median running alongside my place at M and 31st. Am I understanding correctly that I must fill out the Street Tree Planting Application from the Public Works site, but I can only plant trees from the Approved Planting List on that site. Correct? But I don’t need permission to plant regular shrubs or wildflowers in the medians, right?

I think that the tree species that have been selected will not grow tall enough to encroach on the power lines. At least that’s my understanding.

Hey Norm, I have a question... One of the new trees in front of this house on the 2200 block of Q Street is *directly* under the the power line to the house. If the tree was 3 feet in either direction, it'd have a much better chance of not getting mangled in the future. Are the contractors told to be on the lookout for this kind of thing?

Not all the trees have been planted yet
But watch out this weekend you should see alot being planted on Broad st.
The contractor has untill the end of April to have all the trees planted.
