A passing that might’ve gone unnoticed
We’ve heard that the man that had been living around the intersection of Pink and Venable Streets for at least the past several years has passed over the weekend. His name might have been Mr.Cunningham; he was known to some on the street as Mr.Shuffles due to his distinct walk.
If there is a God and there is a heaven, I hope Mr. Shuffles is sleeping in a warm and comfy place tonight. His life on the streets could not have been an easy one.
I’m glad you’ve let us know. Sometimes I wouldn’t see him for weeks so now I won’t keep looking. He’s been a regular at my corner and the mickie-d’s on Broad for a long time.
I live on 23rd past where Pink tansitions from 24th, so fo the last seven years I have driven by Mr. Shuffles vacant lot. I have seen his tent in the snow many a winter. He was part of my Church Hill landscape. Every time I saw him it put a smile on my face that he was still somehow suviving. I will miss him.
