widespread outages

Dominion Power reports “widespread outages” in the area due to the wind and offers no timeframe for service to get back up. At least we haven’t heard any trees go down…

For an idea of where outages are occuring, see http://www.dom.com/news/outage_map.jsp

Stop lights on Broad Street at the bottom of the hill and the McDonalds were out most of the evening. People don’t know to treat the dark lights as though they were four-way stops either.

Just looked on their website and it said maybe Monday or Tuesday even!

I was out on the westend yesterday (not by choice, had football practice) and saw several trees down in the Ridgefield/Gaskins area.

I like that you were compelled to qualify why you were in the west end :)

I did notice on Main and 25th Streets this morning those coming from the East thought they were entitled to barely stop then kept going while the rest of us felt compelled to cut them off, forcing them to take turns. Its very frustrating that people who live around don’t know what to do at a 4 way stop, *sigh*.

I am with you on the barely stopping. I come up 25th every morning crossing main. The light was out and the city had even put up stop signs…sooo ugh duh its a four way stop…but would you believe it a police officer even rolled right through the stop sign on main cutting me off as it was my turn to cross main and continue up 25th. FOUR WAY STOP PEOPLE!!! Yes you have to go to work but I do too!
