   I pulled up a chart of homocides in 2007, and the Lavar Robinson murder shows up as “CLEARED” even though the charges against Patillo were dropped. Does anyone know why? Was some one else charged and convicted of this murder? Or is this information out of date: http://www.inrich.com/cva/ric/search.apx.-content-articles-RTD-2008-01-06-0125.html

   I have looked at the crime data before and seen the comment “cleared by arrest”. I guess it’s up to the prosecutors to actually convict (assuming, of course, that the guilty party was arrested).

   I guess that’s what the status means, Amy. IMHO, that somewhat skews the cleared case data, since the average citizen would expect the status would be re-opened if the charges were dropped for the arrested suspect.
