   While these deaths are indeed a sad day for their families, if someone lives a certain lifestyle it will catch up with you. I don’t think the death is as sad as 2 lives that never had a chance because of factors out of their control. You say poor family, I say poor society for letting them down.

   RTD 12/23 - Two teens die; one suspect arrested

   Police said the slayings were drug-related.

   Killed were K’Von Robinson, 15, of the 900 block of North 28th Street and Christopher Harris, 19, of the 1800 block of North 21st Street. Victims advocate Alicia Rasin said last night that Harris lived with his mother in South Richmond.

   Charged in the shootings was Codie Holcomb, 22, of the 2400 block of North 24th Street, police said. The second suspect sought Saturday night was identified as Isiah Jamarr “Bunk” Johnson, 21. Johnson’s last known address was in the 1400 block of Rogers Street.

    RTD 12/25 - 2nd man arrested in city slayings - A suspect in an East End double homicide over the weekend turns himself in

    Johnson turned himself in at Richmond police headquarters before noon yesterday, Lt. Martin Harrison said. Detectives were interviewing the suspect and he was expected to be charged with murder, Harrison said.

    “This is a dangerous individual who callously took the lives of a 15-year-old and a 19-year-old,” major crimes Capt. John Venuti said before Johnson surrendered.

    A Richmond Circuit Court judge today found Isiah Johnson, 22, guilty of killing two teenagers in December. [...] Judge Richard D. Taylor Jr. found Johnson of first-degree murder in both cases. Johnson will be up for sentencing in July.

    The two witnesses, Antoine Dabney and Codie Holcomb, testified that they saw Johnson shoot Harris and then Robinson without warning.

    Dabney and Holcomb said they, along with Robinson, Harris, Johnson and two or three others, had been joking around together on the corner moments before.

    Dabney said that after he offered to sell Johnson some marijuana, Johnson stepped into a nearby house for about 10 minutes before returning to the group and shooting the two teenagers.

    In his testimony, Johnson said he got a gun in the house, saying Holcomb had warned him that one of the teens “said he’s going to do something to me.

    “All I remember is I closed my eyes and I blacked out.”

    I dunno about you guys, but I find the posts from the “other side of life” e.g. 31. and 32. to be vivid reminders of the fragile world we live in up on the Hill.

    Yes, those posts are shocking. But they keep me aware of why we’re working so hard to make “greater Church Hill” a safer community for everyone.

    Sometimes, when my block is quiet, the hookers & bums stoop yelling and the weeds/trash are under control, I relax and think “oh, what a peaceful, beautiful neighborhood”.

    About then a couple violent news stories and a few vulgar postings shock me back into reality and put me back “on guard”. Which is probably a good thing, at least for now.

    I sort of agree with the person who said that these comments show another side of life up here on the Hill however, I think the profanity is over the top. I daresay if I posted something with all of that profanity, my post would probably be removed (as well it should). If friends of deceased victims want to post their remembrances, etc. I say great - this site should be used by everyone. but please John, can we have some rules?

    I vote leave them up also, not that John’s going to take them down anyway. It’s not just a site for the well-educated and/or white folk, after all. If you’ve never learned to express yourself without using potty words, you use potty words - but it doesn’t mean you shouldn’t have a voice.
    I like being able to see how people outside my social circle see the world, even if it takes some effort to translate.
