How to recognize different trees from quite a long way away. The Larch.
AHA. A Monte Python comment!
Pause.
THE LARCH.
Emerson – welcome! LOL and I look forward to more pithy commentary from you!
Pithy + trees. Excellent pun. I hope I don’t sound like a sap. Seasoned Greetings and Happy Hollandaise to all!
The deadline for signing up for this class is January 20th. The class is on Manday nights beginning February 4th. It would be great to have more Tree Stewards in the Church Hill/Union Hill/Fairmount area. Anybody wanna carpool?
The deadline for registration by mail has been moved to Jan 25th,
registration will also be available at the door.
The cost of the program covers the pruning tools that the Stewards will receive at the end of the program. The tools are 1 pruning saw, 1 sheath, 1 hand pruner and a safety vest. A certificate of Completion will be awarded at the end of the service hour commitment. All remaining funds will be used toward Tree Steward Projects .
Here is a brochure that for the upcoming Tree Steward class. (PDF)
It’s not too late. You can still register for the Tree Steward Class at the door on Monday, February 4th, 6:30pm at the Round House in Byrd Park. The first class will be on the Anatomy of a Tree and Identification of Trees. Hope you can make it.
To follow-up, I ended up signing up for this class and it has been very informative so far. If you like trees and want to know more about them, definitely take the class the next time that it is offered!
There are quite a few East End folks taking the class, too.
