My girlfriend, a buddy, and I went for dinner at J’s a couple weekends ago and plan to go again this weekend. The place was packed and we were welcomed with champagne at the bar. I haven’t read a review yet, but I don’t need one to know what I experienced. She has put together an amazing menu (that changes weekly) and a fabulously complimentary winelist.

My wife and I went there last week and were very impressed with our meals - taste and presentation. Their wine suggestion was perfect. We’ll be frequenting this place. As reformed Fan dwellers, we are thrilled to see another restaurant option up here, especially one with a menu of this caliber.

Yay for Jay! We’ve loved our brunches there and are so excited it’s expanded to dinner and drinks!

Does anybody know the status on the Cuban restaurant on 25th? We, too, want more great “walkable” restaurants.

There is obviously a lot more foot traffic and positive street activity since J’s opened in the evenings. This has really added to the vibrancy of our community, not to mention a great place to eat. My moms and I had Mother’s Day Brunch and it was very nice, a great meal with wonderful live music, and fantastic service, as always.

The dinner food is fantastic! Definitely check out the bucatini and pizza selections this week. The red wine by the glass option is also very good. She also has some neat looking lights surrounding the top of the building that really look nice at night. It’s a great place for dinner! Bring your friends and spread the word around about it.

JUMPIN J’S JAVA SUCKS HER FOOD IS AWFUL THE WAIT STAFF IS RUDE AND SHE REALLY NEEDS TO MAKE HER DAUGHTER USE SOME SOAP BECAUSE HER DAUGHTER SMELL LIKE FEET AND BUTT. THAT FAKE ASS MOTHER EARTH SHOP NEEDS TO GET A GRIP. THEY NEED TO REALIZE THAT THEY ARE LOCATED IN CHURCHHILL AND MAKE THINGS THAT WILL APPEAL TO ALL PEOPLE. AND ANOTHER THING I BELIEVE THEY ARE RACIST BECAUSE HER CHEF IS BLACK AND HES IN THE KITCHEN AND THATS THE ONLY BLACK PERSON THAT I HAVE SEEN WORKING THERE. HELLO GET WITH THE TIMES.

oh - and J’s has moved back from the fine dining experiment, it seems. They are now open 7am-8pm M-F and 7:30am-5pm on the weekends.

Not only do I disagree with Shay Moore’s statements, that is probably The rudest, most hateful comment I have ever seen on this site. It should never have been allowed on here. Truely shameful.

As rude as the comment begins, Shay had the strength of conviction to sign his/her full name to their comment. As it is, if this were posted anonymously, I might’ve held it back.

This is a blog. Opinions are posted here. One post was negative, and a later post expressed disagreement. But to say that one post should never have been allowed is asinine. Buck up and get a thicker skin. John does a great job of mediating this site.

I’m glad they’re back to being open so early in the morning as that was the time I frequented the shop more than any other. I am sad the experiment didn’t work, however, because “walkable” restaurants in the area are key to its vibrancy I think. I introduced my folks to the Hill Cafe Sunday evening and they fell in love, : ).
