average annual incomes in housing authority projects

“Average annual incomes in housing authority projects such as Gilpin, Whitcomb and Creighton courts are between $8,000 and $10,000, according to the latest RRHA statistics. In the comparably affluent Mosby Court, average incomes are above $11,000.” [via]

Sounds like if anythang Richmond needs more projects like Gilpin Court….

RICHMOND just needs to stick with what it has… in other words continue to BUILD up the WESTEND and downtown…

The demographics data from RRHA is really interesting: http://www.rrha.org/html/public/demo.pdf

. For instance, in Mosby which shows the highest average annual income…the average rent and number of dependents is higher and the average length of occupancy longer. And the amount of employment income for Mosby is also the highest. The RRHA data lists the following income sources: employment, social security, public assistance, and other. There’s a fairly high amount of ‘other’ income listed for all the federal housing projects under RRHA administration…perhaps some of that income is disability. Given the figures, however, it doesn’t make sense that the ‘other’ income is retirement since, in no case, is the average age of ‘head of household’ over 40 yrs. Although I’m sure some of those heads of household are old enough to have retired, the amount of retirement income - if that is the source of ‘other’ income - would probably have kicked that average ‘head of household’ figure to higher than 40 yrs. But it’s clear that the preponderance of child care and household-order in these communities is falling on women’s shoulders!

mosby court rida is a FAKE !!
Whom ever you are(you’re not a 14 year old kid from the projects) your writing is inconsistent with that of a youth! Stop trying to stereotype our young people from the housing communities
YOU ARE A FAKE, be for real

I don’t know, it looks legit to me. A 14-year-old would be 8th or 9th grade. Also, I haven’t met anyone that is over a certain age and from outside of the hood that uses that form of ‘carry’.

  9. posted by tired of fakes at December 8, 2006 11:31 pm :

John, it may look legit to you,but the inconsistenies:
most youth from mosby will say MCP(mosby court posie)or will say uptop (mosby top),I’ve not heard housing communities referred to as PJ’s except for on TV, mostly referred to as hood or even the ghetto. I was born and raised, the young people I work with would say this is where I laid my head for 14 yrs or my family’s from or i’ve been here all my life
not born and raised and lastly it depend on where you live how you may spell the word dog (dawg, doggs). This is not a youth from mosby, I feel like this is an adult.

    1. Get an education.
    2. From your hostile vocabulary, you are neither a fake or the “real deal” - you are nothing.
    3. Given your attitude, you are at the bottom and always will be - race not being a factor, but common sense.

I’ve been in hoods from NYC to asia. The one difference between the hoods here and overseas is that overseas(asia especially)hoods are that way because the majority of that country is corrupt and the only thing holding them down is the government. I know there’s a lot of you that are going to say that the government is holding them down but believe me, its nothing like I’ve seen over there. The thing that keeps the hood the hood are the parents that pass that shit down to there kids. Start teaching kids how to function in society and not how to sell drugs. Teach kids how to read and write instead of teaching them street games.
I came from the hood and I learned from the things that happened around me. It doesn’t have to be like that. Get a job and an education and stop wilin’ out so damn hard.
