a new feature at chpn

The classifieds listing down the side of the page will now show the most recent 5 messages from the Church Hill Crimewatch phone alert program at the bottom.

The Church Hill Crimewatch phone alert system is something very neat. Shelby Long confirms incident reports and then puts out the phone message. The automated system calls the phone tree, spreading the message. The information on the system is thus relatively real-time, and 100% confirmed. We have a volunteer that will post the messages on chpn as she gets them.

To get onto the phone list. contact Shelby Long at 648-2710.

The outcome of the attempted armed robbery on N 22nd St was outstanding. I do not advocate violence in answering everything (although I bet those 2 think twice before they try that again) it seemed to work this time. I would like to congradulate the citizen on the proper use of his second ammendment rights.

My wife and I were the first “attempted” victims on Sunday night. The incident occured just past the dumpsters for the Hill Cafe on 28th street. I wish the second target had shot them. But I understand, and know from experience, you only have a split second to react. Also, shooting folks does not come naturally to law abiding citizens. These thugs will not “think twice” about doing this again. They WILL do it again. They were young. This was practice for their next score. Each time they do this they will be able to better control the adrenaline pumping through their veins. What saved my wife and I was that our car has automatic locks. It gave us that extra second to drive away. The gun was a “sawed off” .22 rifle that probably could not shoot (According to the police). Next time they will have a working gun. This thug rap culture must end. It has no redeeming value and I dont care about any hardships these kids faced. As members of a society there are standards of behavior which MUST be common to ALL. I only wish I shot them and ended their careers. No one who starts out with armed robbery will win the Nobel Peace prize or cure cancer.

I dont want to argue on this chat board- but having a gun in your face changes your mind. Be safe every one, they are STILL out there.
