100 New Trees for Union Hill UPDATE
From Bill Conkle: “Initially, I was told that the Adopt a Tree Program would cost $25 per tree and I went right to work promoting the idea of 100 New Trees for Union Hill at $25 a pop. I now have been informed that the cost this year will be $50 for the first tree and $150 for any additional tree. This is still a good deal compared to previous years, but not as attractive as the $25 price tag.”

shooting on 32nd Street
Richmond police are investigating a shooting at O and 32nd Streets this afternoon. Police say the victim has life threatening injuries; no details on a suspect or motive. [via]

back-to-school parade is back on!
A scaled-back version of the annual “Back To School” parade will take place this Saturday from 10 am to noon. The parade will begin at Chimborazo Park and end at Martin Luther King, Jr. Middle School. [via]
