The city has announced a new plan for keeping the neighborhoods in the loop called the Neighborhood Roundtable, to consist of one representative from each of the nine council districts. The rep for District 7 is Sharon Burton.

A long-abandoned and possibly notorious house at 816 North 22nd Street was demolished this afternoon.

UPDATED An officer on patrol found the victims laying in the road at 30th Street and Nine Mile Road just before 3am this morning. At last word, one man was in surgery. The other man had non-life threatening injuries. [via]

The East District Family Resource Center will be hosting youth job readiness training seminars over the next few months for kids ages 14-17.

About the power outage last night…

About 1,800 Dominion Virginia Power customers lost power last night when a truck hit a utility pole at Bloom Lane and Mechanicsville Turnpike about 7 pm. Because the 45-foot pole had to be replaced, about 130 customers did not get their power back until around midnight. [via]

Judy Stukes, 37, pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in the Oct. 6 slaying of Jerome Henley in his room at the boarding house at 525 Mosby Street. [via]

Al-Qadaffi innocent in Dec. shooting

The murder charge against VCU student Omari Al-Qadaffi in the shooting death of a Lawarren Arkeis Williams on December 10th was withdrawn after authorities determined Al-Qadaffi acted in self-defense. [via]

Dozens of Richmond police raided a house on North 24th Street after the owner, Richard Davis, is accused of making and selling alcohol. Two children riding in the back seat of their parents’ car were cut by flying glass yesterday when the car, apparently caught in a cross-fire, was hit by gunfire at about 5pm at North 26th Street and Nine Mile Road. [via]
