   I am new to the area so I would like to attend if there is a meeting. Whats the “skinny” on the 7th district and Delores McQuinn? Are we an organized and progressive district? Do we as constituents have easy access to her ear?

   I received a flyer in the mail about this. The meeting is Wed 1/25/06 at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church (3330 R St.) at 7:00pm. The topic of the meeting is public safety. There are also future meetings planned in February to discuss tax relief for the elderly. Hopefully there will be a good turn out at the meetings with coverage by CHPN…..

   I’ll need some help on this. I have class on Wednesday nights, so I won’t be able to make the meeting. Can I get a volunteer to attend and write a paragraph or 3 about what happens at the meeting?

   That would be Reverend McQuinn, John. Is Chief Monroe going to be there? Or our police district commander? Otherwise, this meeting would be downright useless. We need to know how the recent police reorganization has effected staffing levels in the area. And whether there is a strategic plan for crime prevention for this area (and if yes, what is it). I will try to attend the meeting. If, for nothing else, than to meet the elusive Rev. McQuinn.

   Also - there are two Town Meetings being planned for Senior Citizens and Taxes, with dates to be decided.
