ACORN has announced a free Home Buyer Education and Renovation Lending Workshop for November 12th and a plaster workshop for November 19th.

The two main topics of the Home Buyer Education and Renovation Lending Workshop will be Renovation Lending Programs and How to Qualify for a Mortgage. Take advantage of this opportunity to learn the ins and outs of home mortgage financing (including: loan programs, credit, cash required, cash sources, etc…). Learn the benefits of renovation lending and how to buy a home in disrepair and fix it up using these unique loan programs. Additional topics to be covered include tax benefits, energy efficiency, market equity and much more. The workshop will be help November 12th, from 9am-noon at the Parish House at St.John’s Church.

For the Plaster Workshop, plasterer Bill MacArthur will be on hand to address the typical problems of plaster repairs in older homes. Learn how to repair cracks, gouges, and small holes. Limited to 12 participants, there is a registration deadline of 5pm on Thursday, November 17th. The workshop costs $5.00 for A.C.O.R.N. members and $10.00 for non-members. The workshop will be held Saturday, November 19th, from 9am-noon at a private home in Historic Manchester (specific location and directions will be given at the time of registration).
