3 month murder drought is over

A fatal stabbing this morning became the area’s first killing since July 2nd, breaking an unheard of 3-month quiet spell.

From nbc12.com:

A Richmond woman walked in to the police station this morning and confessed she’d just stabbed someone. Police say when they arrived at the woman’s home on Mosby street, they found the body of a man in his 40’s.

    [...] When officers went to her home in the 500 block of Mosby Street in the city’s East End, they found a man in his 40s dead with apparent stab wounds.

    [...] neighbor Alicia Rasin identified him as Jerome Henley, who Rasin said had lived at the address for more than six years. She said Henley was a former janitor at VCU Medical Center who had retired because of a medical disability.

    Investigators arrested Judy Stukes, 37, on a murder charge in Henley’s death. [...] Rasin said Stukes had lived at the address in a separate room for about two weeks.
