A man was hospitalized after he was found shot in an alley in the 2500 block of Nine Mile Road shortly before 9pm last night.

nbc12.com is reporting a non-fatal drive-by shooting at approximately 10:30pm Wednesday in the 3200 block of Nine Mile Road.

House demolished on 23rd Street

In the middle of a strange and interesting block and just outside of the real neighborhood-saving renovation push, 1315 North 23rd Street was demolished today.

Flowers planted and partnership announced at Creighton

Mums, pansies, juniper and rose bushes were planted at Creighton Court on Saturday. The flowers represent a new partnership between Creighton Court residents, the Richmond Redevelopment and Housing Authority, and Bon Secours Richmond Community Hospital.

Visiting artist at Chimborazo Elementary

Kofi Dennis, a native of Ghana and a visiting artist from the Wolf Trap Foundation for the Performing Arts, led a workshop yesterday for students, teachers, and parents at Chimborazo Elementary School. The workshop packed in lessons on rhythm and rhyming, counting and colors, alphabet letters, anatomy and Africa. Read more about it.

Man given 2 years for shooting

The RTD is reporting that Daniel Raymon Mills was sentenced yesterday to 10 years in prison, with eight years suspended, for the May 15 shooting death of Kevin Lamont Holmes. Holmes was killed about 3:45 pm in the Fairhills Apartments complex in the 1300 block of Coalter Street.

Public housing residents “concerned about proposal to eliminate housing projects”

nbc12.com is reporting that many public housing residents showed up at City Hall Wednesday to voice their concerns to City Council about the RRHA’s plan to do away with housing projects.
