chpn.net is one-year-old today!

Inspiration for the site was born out of a summer of being constantly made aware of the changes going on in the area. Inspired by a similar site out of Charlottesville, we wanted to provide an online space where residents could stay aware of what is going on and also contribute to the focus and discussion.

Our first post covered the opening of a new coffeeshop, our most recent is about another senseless shooting. In between there have been plenty of other stories that all relect our area. There have been some informative comments and some that were heartbreaking. It has been an interesting year and we’ve been glad to be here to help record it.

We’d like to see this site grow. We’d love to have more comments and stories submitted by readers. If you see something new or interesting, let us know about it. If you are interesting in helping in any capacity, please contact us. We need reporters, photographers, community contact liaisons, etc. We would really like to find someone to report on sports and events at the local schools, and representatives from the local civic leagues.
