If you would like to be involved, there are a few different ways to help contribute to this site. Most simply, if you know of something that should be shared or have words or photos to contribute, contact us and let us know.
If you would like to do more, you can volunteer below to write about or photograph some of the things that are going on in the area.

| Jan 19, 2009 6:45 pm | celebrate Edgar Allen Poe's 200th birthday Celebrate Edgar Allen Poe’s 200th birthday with a Mournful Walk and a few Warming Hours at the Poe Museum. The Mournful Walk begins at 6:45PM at the grave of Eliza Poe in St. John’s Cemetery, and then goes to the Elmira Shelton House, down the hill for a view and history of the tragedy at the Monumental Church, past the Craig House, and ends at the Poe Museum at 8PM. For those not up for the Mournful Walk, they can go directly to the Poe Museum, doors open at 7:45PM, for the museum portion of the program. Cost is but $15 per person, which includes the costumed performances, a candle, museum entrance, a presentation of The Tell-Tale Heart, and coffee/tea/desserts at the Poe. There will stronger spirits available at an optional cash bar that features a wine of Amontillado.
