Hopefully the city will have the street cleaning crew do a pass through the park soon. Along the curbs throughout the park is massive amount of wet decomposing leaves. I’m certainly happy to volunteer for a park cleanup and pick up some stray pieces of trash. But the leaves in the gutter is really a job for machines and trucks.

Snow shovels are excellent tools for picking up dry or wet leaves, though it helps to have someone sweep the leaves onto the shovel. I use a shovel all the time for this purpose. Damp leaves create drainage and ponding problems and leaves going into the storm drains compound the issue.

@SueWho – yes, I removed the damp leaves in the curb in front of my house on 33rd for those reasons. But scooping up all the damp leaves along all the curbs at Chimborazo park would probably be >= 300 times the work. The city street cleaning trucks would be a more realistic solution.
