VOTE HERE! The 2700 block of Leigh Street needs a sidewalk (UPDATED)

UPDATE 10/27 9:45 AM

After being on SeeClickFix for 2 days, this was marked CLOSED an hour or so after being posted here. From the city:

“10/27/2016 @ 9:16 AM, – Thanks for your report to Richmond Government online. This matter has been submitted to Dept. of Public Works. This SCF request will be closed. PLEASE REFER TO RVA # 101000036597, WHICH IS STILL OPEN, when inquiring. Follow ups can also be conducted by dialing Richmond Customer Care at 804-646-7000”

It’s been nice seeing the sidewalk repair on blocks of Clay and Leigh recently, but the new bricks on the 2600 block of East Leigh only serve to highlight that neither side of the 2700 block of Leigh Street has a sidewalk at all.

How, after more than 100 years of being a neighborhood, are there still blocks without sidewalks?

A neighbor has listed the missing sidewalks on SeeClickFix. Take a second to vote for sidewalks! →

My imaginary sidewalk is worse (better?) than yours… (in part because the city has been promising it for years!)

Thanks for getting this initiated! It looks like the item was closed. Is there somewhere else we should vote?

What about the 3000 Block of E Leigh St? Both sides of the street do not have sidewalks either.

I nominate N Street between Chimborazo and 35th. (Or, like, all of N Street. I think there’s a lot of missing sidewalk on blocks with moderate to heavy foot traffic)
