Coordinated Transportation: Interstate Highway System

Details: Tuesday February 6th
Time: 6 – 8 PM
Where: The Valentine @ 1015 East Clay St

CHPN for us represents not just Church Hill, but the East End and the larger issues that affect the City of Richmond. We are sharing this event because we’d like to assure you that, although this is a hyper local site, we  are committed to be part of conversations that have a direct and indirect effect in our community.

Ok prologue over…

Eric Steigleder, Director of Public Relations and Marketing invites us to the next topic!

The Valentine are proud to announce our Controversy/History series! This new take on our long-running Community Conversations will explore contentious, present-day issues by comparing historic debates with modern data. The fourth event of the series will focus on the construction of the interstate highway system using historic figures from Richmond’s past. An expert speaker will then provide on-the-ground data concerning transportation issues in the Richmond region today. Attendees will engage in in-depth conversations and will receive concrete action steps.

We are partnering with the Capital Region Collaborative and aligning our discussion topics with their regional priorities. We are also proud to partner with radio host Kelli Lemon for our biography segments.

Maybe we’ll see you there!

Oh, a mystery…what fun!

Please, for those of us who won’t attend this event, be sure to let us know just which historic figures from Richmond’s past (as opposed to historic figures from Richmond’s future) were used in the construction of the interstate highway system; and whether they were used locally or maybe in another state.
