#5 – Absolutel hilarious!! And it is a photographic allegory of our 7th District meetings ( maybe of all district meetings but 7th is the only one I endure) where all the speakers, after telling attendees how brief their comments will be, spend just about as much time as their comments feeding the egos of the other speakers as in “you’re doing such important work” and “we’re all so lucky to have you representing us” and around and around and around it goes!

Mary, you nailed it! The 7th District is a huge disaster.

I think we are blessed to have the excellent city councilwoman that we do, and I appreciate the time the speakers give to attend. Yes, the city has significant problems, but the speakers who attend those meetings are trying to inform us and improve the situation. I appreciate the effort that goes into the meetings.

#8 – I too appreciate the time the speakers donate at community meetings to inform community members. What I don’t appreciate is the fireplug-to-fireplug mutual admiration thing they’ve got going that’s certainly not informative but is always time-consuming. I mean, they can always take that part of their interaction to a coffee shop before or after a meet. Politicians’ self-praise sessions are certainly a waste of my time.
