This is the 5th fatal shooting in the East End since 10/1.

I count at least 16 individual shootings (fatal or otherwise) since 10/1.

From the RPD:

The Richmond Police Department is investigating a homicide that occurred in the city’s East End.

At approximately 2:09 p.m., officers responded to a report of a shooting in the 1800 block of Q Street. Upon arrival, officers found two females in a side yard of a residence who were suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.

Both females were transported to a local hospital where one victim died. The other victim has an injury that is not considered life threatening.

Major Crimes detectives are actively pursuing all available leads in the case and continue to gather information about this incident.

The Richmond Police Department has identified the victim in yesterday’s homicide as Jahmeique L. Phillips, 18, of the 1800 block of Q Street.

Yesterday at approximately 2:09 p.m., officers responded to a report of a shooting in the 1800 block of Q Street. Upon arrival, officers found two females in a side yard of a residence who were suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.

Both females were transported to a local hospital where Phillips died. The other victim has an injury that is not considered life threatening.

Major Crimes detectives are pursuing several leads in this case.
