Interesting to see this, which started out as a gas station, being this close to a house. I wonder if the people living there complained about the noise, traffic, and smells then? Or if it was owned by the person in that house?

Hey Eric, this may be a research project for you. I heard the space at Marshall & Jefferson (now Montessori) was a filling station as well. Curious how Jefferson, a former trolley street, had these filling stations. Maybe many but maybe not in existance at the same time. And like you noticed, is such close proximity to residential.

There were several gas stations in and around Church Hill years ago. There was one on the Patrick Henry Park block on Broad as well as another on Marshall on the same block. Pritchard Bros on Marshall had one there for years. Hmmm… ideas 🙂
