Tatnall drops out of School Board contest, endorses Marsh-Carter

In a surprise announcement this morning, Rick Tatnall is dropping out of the contest for the open 7th District School Board seat and is endorsing Nadine Marsh-Carter:

Dear Citizens of the 7th District and the City of Richmond,

Today I am officially ending my campaign for the School Board in the 7th District of Richmond and wholeheartedly endorsing Nadine Marsh-Carter as the best possible candidate for the position. While I am confident I would have been a very effective advocate for the 7th District on the School Board, I believe that Nadine, with her wide variety of experiences and talents, is better suited for that role. I will now concentrate 100% of my time on the many Replenish Richmond initiatives currently in the works to support Richmond Public Schools, the 7th District, the East End, and the City of Richmond.

I have discussed my decision with Ms. Marsh-Carter and with current 7th District School Board Member Don Coleman. I also have offered Ms. Marsh-Carter the same support I have provided Mr. Coleman during his tenure – being a community liaison, an instigator and an information source. I look forward to working with Ms. Marsh-Carter, Mr. Coleman and lots of other engaged Richmonders as we start immediately to strategically plan and implement a new and exciting future for education in the City of Richmond.

Tatnall will still appear on the ballot alongside Marsh-Carter and Kirsten Gray.

A good man is hard to keep down and we haven’t heard the last of Rick. He’ll be back in some other useful role.
