A large fight broke out in Creighton Court last Wednesday just moments before a 14-year-old girl was shot. Richmond Police detectives are appealing to the public for any additional information that could lead them to the shooter.

At approximately 9:16 p.m. on August 24, officers working in the area encountered a young girl yelling for help in the 2000 block of Creighton Road. She had suffered an apparent gunshot wound and was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

“Just prior to the shooting a fight involving numerous juveniles and possibly some adults took place a block away,” said Detective Sergeant Claude Picard with the Major Crimes Division. “Our hope is that someone who was present or witnessed the commotion will come forward and help us solve this case.”
