This seems to have started around 1920 and located at 315 N 24th. One ad says… J.A. Grasberger was manager and they did automobile body, carriage, and wagon work. They also shoed horses. By 1946, Nolde’s must have acquired it and was selling off stock shares.

This of course goes hand-in-hand with my Ghost Sign article in the July CHA Community newsletter. Unfortunately there was an error in the article in which I mentioned that In 1882, Taylor enlarged the store and rented the apartments. Five years later, he built 2503, which at the time, was only a two-story structure with a small meeting hall on the second floor.

That should have read Fifteen years later (1897). Sorry for the typo.
