Richmond Tree Stewards announce Community Roots Tree Giveaway 2016

Have an empty tree well in front of your home? Would you like a tree for your backyard? This is an opportunity to plant a tree at no cost to you other than a commitment to take care of it for the first two years.

Through the Richmond Tree Stewards Community Roots Tree Giveaway 2016 program, individual homeowners can get up to two trees. Community groups can request more than two trees. If for a tree well, approval from the Urban Forestry Division to plant will be coordinated by the Richmond Tree Stewards.

Trees will be delivered to Byrd Park on the morning of Saturday, October 22, and will need to be picked up by the homeowner. This is the third year that Richmond Tree Stewards will be giving trees to homeowners and community groups (Friends of Parks, schools, churches, etc.).

If you would like to apply for a trees (or trees), please contact communityrootsRVA@gmail.com.
